BUILDING EXCELLENCE AWARDS

We are accepting online submissions now! 

All projects eligible must have posted Substantial Performance between January 1, 2018 and December 31 2022.

SUBMISSION INFORMATION

Our judging panel scores each project on a point system. Please provide complete and detailed information about your project so the judges can make accurate and informed decisions. 

All submissions must be from General/Prime Contractors who are members in good standing with the Grand Valley Construction Association. 

There are no geographic restrictions. 

All projects eligible must have posted Substantial Performance between January 1, 2018 and December 31, 2022. 

Submissions will be judged by the Building Excellence Awards Adjudication Committee. Decisions of the Adjudication Committee will be final and not subject to appeal. If, in the opinion of the Building Excellence Awards Adjudication committee, there are no suitable project entries, the awards will not be given in that category. 

Awards will be presented during the GVCA Building Excellence Awards Gala evening on Thursday, April 27th, 2023 at Bingemans in Kitchener.

RESTORATION / CONVERSION.

This is a team award for the restoration/conversion or adaptive re-use of a building that makes a profound contribution to a neighbourhoods' character, diversity and sense of identity. There is no dollar limit on the cost of the project and this submission does not need to be completed by the General Contractor. If you worked on a project in any aspect, and feel it is worthy of an award, please complete the online form. You can even submit your own company!

Is this project an adaptive reuse of an existing building? If so, how will this conversion serve the community, and provide a better quality of life for the occupants?

If this is a restoration, please describe how the original facility was kept intact and the methods used to bring the building back to its original grandness.

What challenges were encountered and how were they overcome?

Please upload a complete list of the project team in Excel format, including subtrades who worked on this project, their title and contact information, and indicate if they are GVCA members. (If they are not GVCA members, encourage them to join the GVCA by March 16th, 2023 to be recognized.)

Submit 3 to 5 photographs in .jpeg format of this project. Please include a brief caption for each photo. Note that you are responsible for obtaining the rights to reproduce all images. 

NOTE: At least one photograph MUST be of the facade of the building and it MUST be high-resolution.
